Since I will be out-of-the-house by next week, I surf the Internet and yellow pages most of the time, seeking for a day care facility for Amber. Oh man, they can be costly. So far in my inquiries, it ranges from $120-180 a week. The less expensive ones are usually further away from our house. Gas expense and convenience play a vital role in whatever decision I will have. Most of them are learning centers, so I can not just send or get Amber anytime I want (which I think will help us save) especially that my work hours are flexible and not the typical 8-to-5 job. Most importanly, we will be relying solely on KISA for transpo.
Nannies and babysitters are not an option for now. I want a reliable day care facility with a state issued license and accreditation. It is a tough job weeding each facility according to what my family needs. There are certain factors that need to be considered and pondered. If only I have relatives here, it would be easy. Back in the Philippines, my mother took care of Amber while I was working. Life really changed. Life here in the US can be difficult especially if you don't have a lot of resources. Sometimes, I wonder if I will be working just to cover the child care expenses. KISA and I talked about it..the financial stuffs. I told him that even if it's the case, I don't mind. I need self-fulfillment as a person. And this is one of the biggest aspect in my life that gives me happiness. He is always very supportive of whatever I want as long as it does not hamper his life (oh well).
Of course, life is like that. Whenever something is resolve, there's always something coming.
